Formating and backuping a PC

Backup everithing. It is interesting to have a partition (D:) to save everyfile you don’t want to lose.

In my case.

Installing Windows (WinXP SP3 ue):

1. Install the OS with the bootable CD (ue also include Office, NOD32 and Nero)
2. Drivers for Vaio: 1 Chipset, 2 Sound, 3 Video, 4 Ethernet (Network2), Camera, SmartMedia, SonyNG, BT, Wireless.
3. Vaio Utilities: 1 Vaio DLL, 2 Vaio Shared Library, 3 Vaio Event Service (controlar brillo y sonido)
4. Install Filezilla (FTP), Fireworks (Image Edit), VCL (Video Player), Pidgin (MSN, IRC), Putty and Pscp, ActiveSync, Firefox, Thunderbird, Raindlendar (ICS format) and Winamp.
5. Install Wifi UA (Download certificates, install certificates with application, change eduroam wifi configuration to tkip, etc).

Installing Linux (See the Linux page on cognitionis).

Wifi ua eduroam Linux. Usar script de perl de Marcel. (sudo perl script). Tenint els certificats descarregats, la contrasenya es el DNI. Una vegada instalat deixa de funcionar el wifi normal.

Iniciar: ifup wlan0

Parar: ifdown wlan0

Tornar a deixar el original:

1. Editar en /etc/network/config
2. Deixar nomes les 2 primeres linees
3. Reiniciar
