OpenOffice Impress Draw –> export svg format + INKScape (to eps with antialias)

Tricks: use lines of 0.05cm for appropiate view, shadow in 0.10 distance. If eps is too big reduce svg dimensions on inkscape and then export.

• Preferences are saved and re-loaded from /.netbeans/ folder (so do not worry)

Easy to extend: Download the Java version and then in tools/plugins get support for c++, PHP,

Java folder: /usr/lib/jvm/java-6-openjdk/

Easy to see documentation: i.e., Java documentation must be installed (/usr/share/doc/openjdk-6-jdk/xxx-docs.zip). If not download from java (sun currently oracle) website. Then, specify in netbeans by tools->JavaPlatforms->Documentation->Add zip/folder

Eclipse + PDT + Subclipse

1. Download PDT all in one and extract it in home (Eclipse and PDT are ready to run)
2. Run Eclipse, go help/install software —> follow subclipse installation instructions
